Over here, stranger...

Resident Evil 4: Golden Tofu with Mixed Herb Rice

I thought I'd start with a recipe inspired by one of the best games: Resident Evil 4.  A dinner that'll recharge your batteries whether you're human or ganado (zombies love Tofu, famously).  Heals to full and increases max health (best save it until you're low on HP).

Golden Pan-Fried Tofu with Mixed Herb Rice

For the Tofu
1 block tofu, frozen
1 tsp marmite, soy sauce, boullion cube, etc.
2 cups water

For the Rice
1 1/2 cups rice
1/2 medium onion
1 tbsp oil or butter
1 bay leaf
1 tsp chili flakes or 1/2 tsp chili powder (or substitute paprika if you're a little baby)
1 tsp turmeric
2 1/2 cups water

Boil water in a saucepan, stir in your savoury extract of choice, and add the frozen tofu.
Make mine marmite.
 Bring back to the boil.
Boil tofu on high for 5 minutes, then remove from broth, drain and pat dry.
Tofu boiled from frozen should be nice and spongey.
Set broth aside and keep warm.

In heavy-bottomed saucepan, fry the onion in the oil until translucent.  Add spices and fry for a few seconds before stirring in the rice, mixing thoroughly.
A mixture of Green, Yellow, and Red Herbs maximizes healing.
Stirred through.
Pour in the hot broth, and stir once only.
Cover and turn down the heat to low.  Cook 15 minutes or until all liquid is absorbed.  Let stand for five minutes with the lid on.  Fluff with a fork before serving.

Heat a tablespoon of oil or butter in a frying pan.
Fry the tofu until golden-brown on both sides.
This tofu also has a bit of garlic and thyme sprinked on.
Brush with barbeque sauce, mustard, whatever kind of sauce you like, and serve.  We had it with fresh green peppers.
Delicious raw or cooked.
Enjoy, and remember to conserve your ammo.
